HMS Empress of India was a Battleship that had become obselete by 1913 with the rise of the Dreadnaught class. This was despite being commissioned only twenty years previous in 1893!

So it was that the 15,000 tonne warship was sunk off the coast of Dorset in Lyme Bay.
This is a huge wreck and often forgotten about in favour of the Scapa Flow wrecks. Yet this is a wreck worthwhile and limited wreck penetration is possible. The Battleship is leaning over to the port-side and access is best advised on the starboard area. For any wreck penetration be advised that this wreck is known to silt up easily...
