The Duke of Buccleauch sank in 1889 while en route to India. She was transporting china and glassware.
Her sinking was a result of a tragic collision with the Vandalia striking her amidships. All 47 of her crew perished and the captain of the Vandalia denied all blame.

In a modern-day twist divers in the 1980s discovered the wreck and proved that the Duke's crew were not to blame.

The wreck itself is in deep water, at the maximum reach for safe-air diving. Therefore helium blends or similar are advised along with technical diving proficiency.
The bows are well broken up and there's plenty to explore of the wreck itself. The ship was transporting plentiful supplies of china and glassware which are still present, albeit underneath a layer of silt.
