ShipWreck - The Checotah

The Story so far:

The Schooner-Barge was contructed back in 1870 by Baily Bros. and measured 199x34x12 (Ft). Built as a light transport vessel she is believed to be the only vessel in the Great Lakes to of surrendered her registration papers three times.

First named Russell she collided with the streamer Northerner in 1882 and was lay in St. Mary's Reservoir for several years. Raised and re-built in 1890 having surrendered papers.
Then when she was wrecked off Cleveland (1905) the papers were surrendered again. Finally in 1906 she sank in a storm

Depth: 90 - 115 ft (27 - 35 meters)

Visibility: 2 - 10 ft (0.5 - 3 meters)
